Underwater Rig
The REDSEE underwater housing was designed by Hugh Fairs and is compatible with the following cameras:
Phantom Flex
Phantom HD Gold
RED One
Arri Alexa
All Phantom Flex camera controls are available via a 30m Cat 5 underwater Ethernet cable. HDSDI video out allows HD viewing of the shots from the surface. Focus and iris are adjustable underwater by the operator.
The camera can be triggered either by the operator underwater or by the director from the surface via an optional dedicated trigger cable.
Tested to 150 feet, the housing uses both ‘piston and ‘compression’ seals at its joints. A partial vacuum can be pulled prior to immersion to check the integrity of the housing and to eliminate the possibility of accidental flooding.
